I recently was given a lovely present well wrapped up. I immediately thought of using the wonderful wrapping paper to create a garment for one of my mixed media whimsical girls. Here is the result… with the green leaves pattern of this beautiful shiny paper..
I used watercolours and inks for the outline and for the background.

The yellow building with the clock tower used to be the old town hall in Le Cannet and now, it is being used as an art centre. I have the great pleasure to go in there on a regular basis to do some painting and I just enjoy the walk in this very traditional old part of Le Cannet, North of Cannes.

I have started a series of watercolour paintings this Summer about the small village of Le Cannet North of Cannes. I go there on a regular basis and enjoy very much working with a theme.
This painting is inspired by a very famous fresco done on the façade of an old house in 1990 by the illustrator Raymond Peynet and the painter Guy Ceppa .
“Le mur des amoureux” (the wall of lovers”) has become an inevitable stop for newly-weds, a symbol of joy representing a united couple flying over the Garden of Eden.

An imaginary girl done with collage, stencils watercolours acrylics, pen and pencils… a whole bunch of mixed media techniques to play with onto watercolour paper….Autumn is coming soon so colour wise I feel drawn to apples and their red orange colour…
Texture is the theme for this village view…lots of old stones sketched with pen and ink on watercolour paper.

Watercolour sketches of 2 very typical Provence subjects ..with the wind called Mistral in the background.
Fresh idea from my sketchbook. Acrylic paint ,inktense blocks and varnish to protect the fabric.
I used acrylic paints and inktense blocks to paint the giraffe which is permanent once activated with water. For good measure I protected the art with a matt spray varnish for acrylic paintings . I am very pleased to see that the 100% cotton material took so well the colours! What a great way to use your own art creations..

This tote bag was handpainted with acrylics and varnished for protection. I like to work with the background first and layer different organic shapes and then I add birds shapes for the focal point.
