I received for Xmas lots of mixed media art presents… I played with them straight away like a child full of excitment with its new toy…The result after many layers of different types of paint is a rather beady eyed wood fairy girl….more to come in this new style.

I painted this portrait using gouache in a very watery manner almost like watercolour. You can see the transparency effect in the coat. It is the advantage of gouache you have the choice between transparency and opacity in the application of the paint.
A bit of calmness and reflection with this beautiful swan done in gouache.
I went this week to the funeral of a relative. It was taking place in the famous Paris cemetery Le Père Lachaise. It was a very sad day with rain and low sky. We were crying for the loss of a wonderful man who died abrubtly and too young. My heart still aches…This little angel done with brushpen and gouache helps me somehow in the grieving process…
This portrait was done with gouache and brushpen on watercolour paper. I used a watercolour technique to do the flowery crown in a fluid and non specific manner as the main subject was the face. This time I applied the gouache in thin layers reminiscent of watercolour washes.
