Berenice means “bearer of victory” from the Ancient Greek. I challenged myself to make this doll from the intermediate level section in the art doll book (Patti Medaris Culea)where I find patterns to try…

Very pleased with the result I found the name Berenice very much appropriate!

As I am still learning how to make cloth dolls. I decided to do a smaller one (around 25cm..). I realised it is as much work as the 43cm ones ..This one looks like a flower hence her name Flora. I decided to give her a name at the end of completion. I found it comes naturally by just looking at her. I used material that I had in my cupboards except for the one for the skin which I had to buy .

My first attempt in making an art doll…so pleased with the result! This one is called Presence …Made with bits of recycled material and rubans…I was given as a Xmas present  the book from Jan Horrox on how to make cloth dolls…Well written and great explanations…plus  help from wonderful and generous artists sharing their skills on You tube…This is a break from my mixed media paintings but still a very creative and rewarding activity !

Joyeux Noëeeeel !!!!

I created this collage with colours in mind .Pink was my favourite choice so I naturally chose to do a collage of flamingos. Pink is for me a soothing colour and I need it in those hard times.Just to look at it quiet my mind!

I enjoyed so much creating this powerful eagle as I used a lot of layers of tissue paper to obtain the feathers. At the end my fingers were totally glued! Being a child again is very liberating….

Inspired by birds that I can see through my kitchen window…

I don’t have a fancy bird house but I keep refilling ordinary bird feeders attracting a lot of visitors…

These days the climate has been so warm that the ice cap is probably melting even more rapidly … great concern for the polar bears…

The challenge with the “colour” white is to actually depict it with colours keeping the balance and contrast of the white fur against a white icy background.

The mother is very watchful while the cub is curious of everything!

As the storks we are back home for another confinement period…
