I used acrylic paints and inktense blocks to paint the giraffe which is permanent once activated with water. For good measure I protected the art with a matt spray varnish for acrylic paintings . I am very pleased to see that the 100% cotton material took so well the colours! What a great way to use your own art creations..

Tote bag painting

This tote bag was handpainted with acrylics and varnished for protection. I like to work with the background first and layer different organic shapes and then I add birds shapes for the focal point.

It is a group exhibition where you can meet me at the private viewing on Saturday 15th June as well as the day I will be present which is the last day of the exhibition Wednesday 26th June from 3pm till 6pm. Looking forward to seeing you there !
A birthday present

This watercolour was for a friend’s birthday and I tried to combine his favourite pub with his passion for horse racing in one painting …. Here is the result : The horse had to wait outside the pub while his owner would be enjoying a special birthday party inside “The Rose and Crown”. This pub is actually located in Oxford and very often filled with academics and friends…There is a courtyard at the back where you can enjoy a pint in the sunshine!
The real party took place yesterday and the present was very well appreciated !
Mimosa girl

As part of a triptych, this mimosa girl was done on watercolour paper using mainly watercolour, and acrylic for the background. Although the mimosa blossoms in February in the South of France , I still want to use this flower in my design today, for its fluffiness and golden colour and a touch of softness for this dress.
The tulip girl

In the continuous theme of flower girls here is the tulip creation done with watercolours and acrylic on strong watercolour paper.
I try to match the flower shape to the body shape to make a plausible outfit….
The Lion and the girl

I was inspired by Ivy Newport on instagram with her mixed media rendition (acrylic) of the same subject though with a very different technique.I wanted to paint on brown paper and gouache to get a bit of transparency effect. I like the warm effect of a toned paper but the quality of the paper itself is not too good for water media.I still prefer working with watercolour paper of good quality.

Beauty and the beast : My version

This is my interpretation of “Beauty and the beast”. I particularly loved to do the beast out of my imagination. I feel sorry for the creature and it is repulsive enough but not frightening…. just the right combination for the story.
