
A different approach with collage and words. I started with a portrait done in watercolour on drawing paper , cut it into pieces, re-arranged the face in an unusual way, added paint and finally a boat to complete the water theme. The words made sense when I looked at the overall effect.







I painted this portrait using gouache in a very watery manner almost like watercolour. You can see the transparency effect in the coat. It is the advantage of gouache you have the choice between transparency and opacity in the application of the paint.

I went this week to the funeral of a relative. It was taking place in the famous Paris cemetery Le Père Lachaise. It was a very sad day with rain and low sky. We were crying for the loss of a wonderful man who died abrubtly and too young. My heart still aches…This little angel done with brushpen and gouache helps me somehow in the grieving process…
