I recently was given a lovely present well wrapped up. I immediately thought of using the wonderful wrapping paper to create a garment for one of my mixed media whimsical girls. Here is the result… with the green leaves pattern of this beautiful shiny paper..
I used watercolours and inks for the outline and for the background.
I created a textured background for this angel and tried to glue bits of tin foil. . The problem with this type of painting is how to render the shiny effect with a camera. A possible solution is to hold the painting at a certain angle which allows the shiny medium to show through otherwise you get a very flat and disappointing result.
