This lovely fountain is covered with winter flowers at the moment … a real treat for the eyes. This old village is full of charming little corners to be discovered…There is always plenty of inspiration for paintings…
A glimpse of the sea in Le Cannet

This view can be glimpsed in between old houses and trees walking along the main street in Le Cannet. My point of focus is the terracotta pot which invites the eye to go beyond to discover a sliver of the sea in the background. Still part of my ongoing series about Le Cannet done in watercolour.

Le Cannet white/pink house near Tivoli Gardens

I felt drawn to the sunlit traditional house next to the Tivoli Gardens.I particularly like the crazy paving and it’s texture which makes quite a transition to the very brightly lit house.I chose a pink colour instead of the local white paint for the building. Artistic licence!

I keep my eyes open when I walk about in Le Cannet to get the best views as there are beautiful traditional old villas with great gardens and even in Autumn the vegetation remains lush as you can see…
